Who we are…

Sara Modlin-Tucker D.O.

Dr. Sara Modlin-Tucker, D.O., brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to her osteopathic practice, shaped by years of rigorous training and professional experience. A Bay Area native, she began her academic journey at UC Santa Cruz, where she developed a deep fascination with the intricacies of the human body. Her path to osteopathy was deeply personal—inspired by her sister, who has cystic fibrosis. Witnessing a transformative osteopathic treatment that improved her sister’s breathing ignited Dr. Modlin-Tucker’s commitment to understanding and providing this unique form of care. She earned her medical degree from Touro University in California and pursued dual residency training in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine at Maine Dartmouth. Today, she serves as Vice Chair of the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Department at Touro University, where she is committed to mentoring the next generation of osteopathic physicians. Dr. Modlin-Tucker also extends her care to underserved populations through her work at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

With a strong foundation in anatomy and a passion for integrating osteopathy with modern medical practices, Dr. Modlin-Tucker takes a holistic approach to healthcare. She believes that true healing stems from addressing the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. Often, she finds that mental and emotional well-being can be as crucial as physical treatment in restoring health.

Dr. Modlin-Tucker’s practice welcomes patients of all ages and stages, offering personalized care for conditions ranging from newborn latch dysfunction to pregnancy-related concerns, headaches, back pain, and more. Her expertise spans a diverse range of osteopathic techniques, allowing her to tailor treatments to the individual needs and preferences of each patient. Whether employing a gentle, energetic touch or a more structural approach, she aims to provide care that supports both immediate relief and long-term wellness.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Modlin-Tucker enjoys spending time with her husband, a Napa native, and their two children. Their household is made lively by the playful antics of their two cats. Dr. Modlin-Tucker looks forward to partnering with you in a warm, welcoming environment where your health and well-being take center stage.
